From Wednesday 9 until all of Friday 11 August 2023, the tracks between Fortezza/Franzensfeste and Rio di Pusteria/Mühlbach will remain closed to traffic in both directions for construction works at Fortezza/Franzensfeste station and maintenance work on a bridge structure near the fortress.
During the works, all trains will be suspended and rail replacement services will be provided, with buses running every 30 minutes. Please note that it is not possible to carry bikes on replacement buses. Both the journey times and the transfer times of replacement bus services are longer than those of trains, making it impossible to uphold the regular connection times at Fortezza/Franzensfeste train station.
On Tuesday 8 August 2023, there will be further timetable changes throughout the Pusteria/Pustertal valley to allow for preparatory works:
- The 1885 service from Fortezza/Franzensfeste to San Candido/Innichen will be suspended. There will be replacement bus services departing from Fortezza/Franzensfeste train station at 18:20.
- The last service from Fortezza/Franzensfeste to Brunico/Bruneck that night (1831) will depart at 20:15 instead of 21:20. In order to still offer passengers a connection, a replacement bus service to Brunico/Bruneck will depart from the station forecourt in Fortezza/Franzensfeste at 21:25.
In addition, from 9 to 11 August 2023, the following changes apply:
- Train service 1830 | San Candido/Innichen – Bolzano/Bozen: A replacement bus service will be provided between Fortezza/Franzensfeste and San Candido/Innichen.
- Train service 1837 | Fortezza/Franzensfeste – Brunico/Bruneck: A replacement bus service will be provided between Fortezza/Franzensfeste and Brunico/Bruneck.
- Train service 1876 | Brunico/Bruneck – Fortezza/Franzensfeste: A replacement bus service will be provided between Brunico/Bruneck and Fortezza/Franzensfeste.
- Train service 1880/1881 | Bolzano/Bozen – San Candido/Innichen: A replacement bus service will be provided between San Candido/Innichen and Fortezza/Franzensfeste.
On Saturday 12 August 2023, the R1834 train service from San Candido/Innichen to Fortezza/Franzensfeste will be suspended. There will be a replacement bus service departing from San Candido/Innichen train station at 05:20.
